Unit 92-Medic-1 is a 1991 Chevrolet/Frontline Ambulance and is housed at Conover FD Station # 1. Our ambulances are BLS units and are used primarily to support Catawba County EMS units at multiple injury incidents.
Unit 92-Squad-1 is a 2004 Ford/Reading and is housed at our base in Newton. 92-Squad-1 has a 9000lb winch and two 12 volt, 300 watt, telescoping scene lights. This unit carries an AED, BLS medical equipment, Jaws of Life, a DeWalt 24 volt reciprocating saw, a Stihl chainsaw, high pressure air bags, cribbing and a variety of hand and power tools. What makes 92-Squad-1 unique was that after it was purchased through a local dealer, NCRS members installed the warning lights and scene lighting as well as mounted the equipment saving NCRS a considerable amount of money.
Unit 92-Medic-2 is a 1993 Chevrolet/E-One Ambulance and is housed at our Newton base. Our ambulances are BLS units and are used primarily to support Catawba County EMS units at multiple injury incidents.
Unit 92-Rescue-1 is a 1991 Chevrolet/Frontline and is housed at our Newton base. Unit 92-Rescue-1 is a support unit carrying additional cribbing, a large assortment of hand and power tools, 10, 14 and 24 foot ladders a porta-power kit, 4 Scott 4500 PSI SCBA and our rope rescue equipment. 92-Rescue-1 also has a 12KW generator and a front mounted winch.

Unit 92-Squad-2 is a 1978 Chevrolet/Prestige housed at Conover FD Station # 1. 92-Squad-2 has a 9000lb winch and a 3.5kw generator that powers four 250 watt scene lights. This unit carries an AED, BLS medical equipment, Jaws of Life, a DeWalt 24 volt reciprocating saw, a Stihl chainsaw, cribbing and a variety of hand and power tools.
Unit 925 (retired) was a 1985 Chevrolet Suburban. Initially put into service when blood runs were common. It was most recently used as a quick response unit carrying BLS equipment and an AED. This unit was retired in 2004.
